Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Slide ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Slide mobile application. Slide helps you find rounds of golf to join, post your own rounds, and organize tee times with friends. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, or phone number depending on your sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email link).
• Profile information. A display name and an optional profile photo so other members can recognize you when you join a round.
• Contacts.If you grant permission, the app reads contacts from your device so you can pick people to invite by SMS. The invite is sent through Apple's system message composer; we do not upload your contacts to our servers and we do not store contact lists in our database.
• Round details. Rounds you post or join are stored on our servers, including the course, start time, vibe, optional description, and the list of participants. Other members of a round can see who else is in it.
• Messages. Chat messages sent inside a round are stored so other participants can read them and so you can see history when you reopen the round.
• Calendar. If you grant write-only calendar access, the app adds rounds you choose to your calendar. We do not read your calendar.
• Push notifications. If you grant notification permission, we store a device push token so we can let you know when you are invited to a round, when a round you posted fills up, or when there is new chat activity in a round you joined.
• Usage data. Anonymous analytics about how the app is used (which screens are visited, which buttons are tapped, app crashes) so we can improve performance and find bugs.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To run the core features of the app: posting rounds, joining rounds, in-round chat, invites.
• To send you push notifications related to rounds you posted, joined, or were invited to.
• To respond to support requests.
• To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run targeted advertising inside the app.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers to operate the app. They process data only as needed to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

• Authentication, database, push, and analytics — Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics).
• App Store and platform services — Apple, for sign-in with Apple and App Store distribution.
• Web hosting — Vercel hosts the slide.golf marketing site and round-invite link landing pages.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Rounds you posted or joined remain visible to participants of those rounds while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account, which removes your personal data from our systems. Past rounds you participated in may continue to show a placeholder identifier in their participant list so other members' chat history stays intact.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and access controls on our servers. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us if you suspect a problem.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and update your profile information from inside the app.
• Delete your account and associated personal data from Settings → Delete account.
• Revoke contacts, calendar, or push notification permissions through your device's system Settings.
• Opt out of push notifications by disabling them in iOS Settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Slide is rated 13+ on the App Store and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
