Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Slide ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Slide mobile application. Slide helps you find rounds of golf to join, post your own rounds, and organize tee times with friends. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information you give us

• Account information. Your phone number, which you use to sign in. There is no password.
• Profile information. Your name, a profile photo, an optional bio, the general area you choose to show, your date of birth, and your gender if you provide it.
• Content you create.The rounds you post or join, the messages you send in a round's group chat, and anything else you submit through the app.
• Support and safety. What you send us when you contact support, report something, or block someone.

3. Information from your device, with your permission

Slide asks for these in context, and each is optional. The app works if you decline, and you can change any of them later in your device settings.

• Contacts,to show which of your contacts are already on Slide and to help you invite others. Invitations are sent through your phone's own messaging app.
• Location, to show rounds and courses near you. We store only a general area, not your precise location.
• Your music library, to add an artist and a few songs to your profile.
• Calendar, to add rounds you choose to your calendar. We cannot read your calendar.
• Notifications, to tell you about invitations, rounds filling up, and new messages.

4. Information others give us

If someone invites you to Slide before you have an account, we hold your phone number and who invited you, so the invitation reaches you when you join. Your number may also reach us when someone who has you in their contacts checks who is already using Slide.

5. Information collected automatically

Basic usage and device information, such as which screens are opened, which actions are taken, and crash reports. We use it to find problems and understand which parts of the app people use.

6. What other members can see

Your profile, the rounds you post or join along with who else is in them, and the messages you send in those rounds are visible to other people using Slide. Information you give us for sign-in, eligibility, or safety is not shown on your profile.

7. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve Slide.
• To connect you with rounds and with other members.
• To send you notifications about rounds and messages.
• To respond to your questions and support requests.
• To keep Slide safe, including reviewing reports, enforcing blocks, and removing content or accounts that break our terms.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

8. Service providers

We use a small number of outside providers to operate Slide, covering cloud hosting and databases, notification delivery, crash and usage reporting, and website hosting. They handle information only as needed to provide those services and are limited in what they may do with it. If you want to know which providers we use, ask us at support@slide.golf.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Some information may be kept for a limited period afterwards where we need it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms. Rounds you took part in may keep an anonymous placeholder in the list of players so the history of everyone else in that round stays readable.

10. Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections, secure sign-in, and access controls on our systems. No service can promise perfect security, so please contact us if you think something is wrong.

11. Your choices

• Review and edit your profile in the app.
• Change or withdraw contacts, location, calendar, and notification access in your device settings.
• Block or report other members.
• Delete your account, and the information tied to it, from Settings.

12. Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Slide. Slide is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If a change matters to you, we will let you know in the app.
